I have now visited Fat Fowl four times and each time had a wonderful meal. A real treat to go out and eat something different and interesting. I had parmesan Polenta with a beetroot pesto! Followed by the skate with chorizo, butter bean and samphire salad . Very friendly waiting staff .

"Possibly the best example of locally sourced, seasonal dishes that I've ever come across. The menu doesn't go into boring boasts regarding provenance- it's simply not necessary to do so."
Bath Magazine 2008
I was
immediately impressed by the comfortable, simply furnished interior
- leather armchairs, rustic tables and a relaxed candle lit
ambience. Many restaurants give in to temptation to ram as many
tables into the space available - Fat fowl has resisted the urge and
left plenty of open space to give diners privacy and staff room to
manoeuvre. The menu changes daily to incorporate fresh seasonal
ingredients most locally source, which ensure regulars will always
find something new to tempt them. Refreshingly there are none of the
predictable options- no chicken, no salmon - but plenty of foods
most of us wouldn't cook at home - roast quail, rainbow trout and
john dory for example, which is surely the point of eating
out".

"Delectable food and marvellous music"
The Fat Fowl
is fast becoming the in place in Bradford on Avon . I was recently
passing through on a cold but sunny Sunday afternoon and wandered
into the Fat Fowl on Silver Street which is just over the
bridge coming from the south. While indulging in a cafe latte and
the most gorgeous carrot cake ever, I was privileged to witness the
melodic jazz of John Law, a world class pianist with an impressive
pedigree of composition and Nick Sorensen , saxophonist, whos sound
is characterised by beautiful melodic improvisations mixed wit a
touch of the blues. The experience was like having world class
musician playing in you living room ".
